Saucony x The Quiet Life: light of distant galaxies
The sports brand Saucony teams up with the streetwear label The Quiet Life delivering a space collaboration based on the Shadow 5000 silhouette
This summer, the Saucony team has prepared a truly special release catching fancy of the dreamiest of us. Based on the Shadow 5000 silhouette, this design is inspired by the space theme, so close to The Quiet Life. Let’s talk about the release in details.
The Quiet Life
Los Angeles streetwear brand, The Quiet Life, was founded by a skateboarding enthusiast, Andy Mueller, back in 1997. Still being in charge, Andy also designs for Girl Skateboards, another label famous among boarders. Exploration of outer space has always been a key topic for The Quiet Life: the signature print moves from one collection to another for the first time, yet without any significant changes.
Working on the collaboration, designers have utilized several colors symbolizing the outer space. Black nubuck at the toe box is for the chaos our Universe originated from, while myriads of stars, so far away from us, placed at the sides turn into a neat, yet a catchy print. The most attentive will also notice the heel panel executed in the famous Tiffany jewelry house shade, which represents our planet with its seas and oceans.
The Shadow 5000 silhouette is worth mentioning as well. First appeared in 1985, this model is an advanced design of the Jazz sneakers, featuring the special stabilization “cup” that fixes the heel when walking or running. Along with the shock-absorbing EVA midsole and the carbon rubber outsole, the model incorporates the firm wrapping tongue, stabilization pads, and side seams.
Release date: July 5
