PUMA × Crossover Blaze of Glory «Velvet Twin» release
Sneakers whose color palette is inspired by David Lynch's psychological thriller «Blue Velvet»
PUMA releases the collaboration with Crossover, Malaysian sneaker boutique, located deep in Johor Bahru, the industrial heartland of this Asian country. Crossover gets to local residents with the original selection of clothes and footwear, while boutique collaborations with other sports industry giants may be familiar to numerous sneakerheads worldwide.
The collaboration is dedicated to the favorite film of the boutique owner, “Blue Velvet”, made by the great director David Lynch in 1986. The film was acclaimed both by the critics and the viewers, being justly titled one of the greatest cinematographic experiments of the 80-s. David Lynch did turn the picturedom upside down introducing his surreal approach to blending psychological thriller and neo-noir. The film is primarily made in grey, black and scarlet tones, which is reflected in the release coloring.
PUMA x Crossover Blaze of Glory “Velvet Twin” sneakers are constructed of premium suede with perforated nubuck pieces and mesh uppers. Reserved black and scarlet coloring stands in contrast to the white sole with Trinomic cushioning technology. Soft inside of the model provides better foot molding, while collars add to stabilization. Moreover, the sneakers tongue is decorated with an unusual logo, and the insoles have an elegant floral print, along with “Be Reasonable” and “Demand Impossible” slogans on the heel.
