Clarks Originals x Stussy Wallabee
Stussy to add some bright colors to the iconic model Clarks Wallabee Shoe, celebrating its 50-year anniversary.
Clarks Wallabee history
It often happens when something iconic starts from something ordinary and trivial. This happened to Clarks Wallabee model in 1965 when the designer from the UK saw the shoes from the German brand Sioux, which in their turn were inspired by reconstruction of the national Sioux moccasins silhouette. According to the idea, these shoes had to follow the foot shape and be very comfortable for everyday wearing. Therefore, there was a little left to do: the shoes had to be modernized and supplemented with details, which are so essential for modern citizens, and that is why the rubber Crepe Sole was chosen.
Surprisingly, the release of Clarks Wallabee matched with some events, which were determining for their further success. First of all, the main reason for expanding requirements for footwear was the fact that people began to spend more time outdoors and prefer traveling, trips to music fests or even sport competitions to staying home. Secondly, hip-hop stars noticed the shoes, and thus, in fact they became a hallmark of a whole subculture generation.
Stussy adds to the silhouette
Designers of the American brand Stussy decided to reinterpret and restyle the recognizable silhouette of the shoe. Clarks Wallabee x Stussy are available in two different colorways: deep Royal Blue and noble Golden Brown. The model is made of premium genuine suede with the toned ostrich leather edging. They are equipped with gold-tipped laces, removable leather patch and signature insoles with golden Stussy branding.
