ASICS Japanese Textile Pack: a tribute to the brand’s roots
Japanese selvage denim and an accurate polka dot pattern — a great combination of a new release based on Gel-Lyte III and Gel-Lyte V silhouettes.
The Japanese brand ASICS pays homage to its roots and delivers two silhouettes based on GEL-Lyte III and GEL-Lyte V models. Both are created from selvedge denim produced in Okayama prefecture, at the best factory in Japan. The specific feature of the fabric is that it comes from old-time shuttle looms. These looms use continuous horizontal textile fiber, which is passed back and forth all along the roll, thus making a unique knitting technique.
This approach allowed ASICS to deliver a one of its kind symbiosis: seemingly aged, the model easily fits in the present-day realities featuring such advances as sole with GEL cushioning, unique tongue and plastic parts in the lacing system. Other interesting details are also worth taking notice of – contrasting outsole is executed in pastel beige shades while the outside of the shoe features an elegant Polka Dot pattern, so popular among style icons of the mid-twentieth century.
