ASICS GEL-LYTE III 'Squad' x Footpatrol
ASICS and Footpatrol celebrate the anniversary of the Gel-Lyte III model, delighting us with the unusual release with the reference to the historical events of the 1940’s.
The anniversary of Gel-Lyte III
ASICS decided to mark the 25th anniversary of Gel-Lyte III with joint release - with the british store Footpatrol, which, since 2002, keeps on pleasing the cranky but very advanced London’s Soho with exclusive clothing and footwear. The distinctive feature of this collaboration lies in the idea of the release, as well as high technology of the Gel-Lyte III model.
This collaboration is inspired by the color of the civilian gas mask, symbolizing the times of struggle and unity of all the inhabitants of Albion, facing the total disaster that overtook the country in the 40’s of the XXth century. The historical memory of the British people is very strong and dates back to the end of the 30’s - when many members of the establishment had already realized the inevitability of the armed conflict, they went on holding special trainings and instructions for ordinary civilians. That has found the reflection in the collaborative model’s details.
Designers of ASICS and Footpatrol showed a truly unconventional approach to this release - performing the model in olive color, supplying it with black and gold details with metallic sheen, as well as stylized logo and store’s abbreviation on the tongue and on the back of the trainer. Moreover, you will find three pairs of laces in the shoe box - of the three shades of olive color. By the way, one of them is stitched with thin black yarn, giving us the name of Footpatrol in Morse code.
The sales will start October 17 at 10:00.
Available only at the store on Petrovsky Boulevard.
